Our recipes are developed by Chef Caroline Schiff and inspired by restaurant dishes. The bars have bold flavors like poblano and pesto. Bon Appetit writes that "texturally, they’re similar to a firm frittata, with a snappy exterior and spongy middle."
We believe that good food goes bad, and we're into good food. Much of our food system is organized around products with long shelf lives, because they're cheap and easy to deal with.
We realized that if we wanted to make something delicious, healthy and satisfying, we had to challenge this whole system of shelf stability.
Whenever you're hungry! We find most people eat them as a hearty snack or as a light meal.
There are so many ways to enjoy a Slow Up bar, some of our favorites include -- straight from the fridge, crumbled on a salad, or topped with avocado, pickled peppers, and fresh greens. We've recently enjoyed heating them up as well.
You can pause or modify which flavors you get and how often you get them anytime. It's easy to cancel altogether if you decide the bars are not for you.
We sold out a few times, but we're officially back. Get them while you can. :)
We don't have an organic certification. We choose to source organic products for almost all of our ingredients, because we think it's important. In some cases though, as with our eggs from Alderfer Farms, we've prioritized traceability and local sourcing over certified organic.
